Milestones - An introduction

What is it

Milestones allow you to combine multiple learnings into one clear goal for your employees.

​For example: Sam starts to work for your company. He watches a video about the the company's values and answers a questionnaire about it immediately afterwards. The following days, he completes an introductory microlearning on the company's products. At the end of the week, he participates in a live, digital Q&A session on what he previously learned with one of the managers and other onboarders on other locations.
All these actions are part of the 'onboarding' milestone, which has now automatically been completed by Sam.

Why did we build it

First of all, milestones will give employees a better indication on where to start or to focus on next in their personal development. It puts them even more in the driver seat to progress towards their and your goals. Moreover, people tend to be more intrinsically motivated if they feel they are working towards a goal. It adds up to the gamification element of the MobieTrain platform, showing users their accomplished streak.

Also managerial roles will profit from the feature, as it will become more easy to track skills and goal achievements within their workforce.

When should you use it

You can create a milestone whenever you have multiple learnings available in one and the same goal or skillset, such as 'selling techniques' or 'time management'. You can combine:

  • Live events

  • Single learnings

  • Crash courses

  • Classic paths

  • Info boosters

  • Videos

  • Quizzes

  • External links

  • SCORM imports

You can even determine a specific order in which those different types of learning content. This can be done by creating a dependency between the two.
