How do I create categories to categorise my learning paths?

Whether you’ve built 10 or 100+ learning paths, having an organised overview helps both you and your end-users. That’s why we allow you to categorise your learning paths in the CMS—so everything stays tidy, accessible, and easy to find!

🧭 What are categories for?

You’ve probably noticed that your Skillflix Homescreen already shows:

  • New – Content the user hasn’t started yet

  • Continue – Content the user started but hasn’t finished

  • Play Again – Content the user has already completed

👉 These 3 categories are automatically managed and unique for every user. That’s why you won’t see them in the CMS.

But here’s the fun part: You can create as many of your own categories as you like!
Think of it like Netflix: scrollable sections like "Suggested for you", "Trending Now", "Based on your history"... except tailored to your learning content!

For example:

  • ✨ "About Us"

  • 💬 "Customer Experience at X"

  • 🧳 "Practicalities"

  • 📚 "Onboarding Tracks"

⚙️ How do I create categories?

Follow these steps to organise your learning content like a pro:

  1. Head to Settings

  2. Click on the Categories tab

  3. There, you can:

    • ➕ Create a new category

    • 🗑️ Delete a category you don’t need anymore

    • ✏️ Rename or update existing ones

    • 🧲 Drag & drop them to reorder how they appear in the Skillflix Homescreen

📝 Once created, you can start assigning your learning paths to the right categories, keeping your CMS and app experience clean and structured.

💡 Pro tip: Categorising content doesn't just help your team—it creates a smoother, more personalised learning journey for your end-users too!
